About us

PPPCalculator.info is a free purchasing power parity salary converter built to help professionals make better international financial decisions. The tool covers 196 countries using official World Bank International Comparison Program data.

Why PPP Calculator Was Built

The shift to remote work after 2020 created a global workforce making salary decisions across borders every day. But most people were using exchange rates from banking apps to evaluate job offers, plan relocations, and negotiate compensation, a method that ignores local price differences entirely.

Exchange rates tell you what currency traders pay. Purchasing power parity tells you what rent, groceries, transport, and healthcare actually cost where you live. That gap can be enormous. A $100,000 salary in San Francisco and ₹20.2 lakhs in Bangalore deliver roughly the same standard of living, but the exchange rate would tell you the Indian salary is worth only $24,000.

This tool exists to close that information gap. We believe salary transparency and economic data should be accessible to everyone navigating global opportunities.

The Team Behind PPP Calculator

I’m Jitender, the founder and developer behind PPPCalculator.info. I have over of experience in banking operations and software development, which gave me firsthand exposure to how currency conversions and international financial decisions work, and how often professionals get misled by headline exchange rate numbers.

I built the first version of this calculator in 2025 to solve a problem I kept seeing: talented people making career-defining decisions about international moves based on incomplete data. The tool has since grown to serve users across 50+ countries.

I’m supported by a small team of content writers who help maintain this calculator, research country-specific data, and create helpful guides for our users.
